It’s a beautiful New Year’s Eve day here in Bouake - cool and breezy and just the right temperature. We’ve just gotten back from a few days up north in Korhogo and Ferke, where we had a little bit of a vacation and saw what some of the ministry opportunities there might be. It was fun to visit some of the missionaries we met at Thanksgiving and see the work they’re doing and think about what things I might like to be involved in during the rest of my time here.
Christmas was good, very fun and restful. On Christmas Eve we went to the all night celebration in church, although we left before it was over, around 1:30 in the morning. There was a lot of music, Senufo dancing, and skits. We got to sleep in on Christmas day and woke up to cinnamon rolls (and coffee for those who drink it). Lunch was around 2:30; we had a potluck meal with all the families who live on the campus. I’ve never had lasagna for Christmas before, but it seems like it might be a good tradition to start J . We ended the day with a gift exchange and a Christmas movie.
Hope you all had a good Christmas as well!
